The driver of a school bus which crashed on the M53 in the Wirral died of natural causes, a coroner has said.
Stephen Shrimpton, 40, died when the coach crashed on the northbound carriageway on 29 September as he was taking children to West Kirby and Calday Grange grammar schools.
Jessica Baker, 15, one of about 50 students onboard, was also killed.
Liverpool coroner’s office said on Friday that the case was now closed as Mr Shrimpton had died of natural causes.
No further details were released.
The inquest previously heard that CCTV showed the driver slump to his left behind the wheel. The coach then left the road, went up an embankment and ended up on its side.
