Lucie (@LucieSHIB), the marketing lead for the Shiba Inu project, has confirmed the launch of the closed beta for the Shiba Eternity Web3 version. The game, which is built on the Shibarium network, aims to bring the collectible card game into the web3 with its migration to the Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain.
Loyal Shiba Inu Community Gets Exclusive Access
The Shiba Inu marketing lead disclosed a statement by Angel from the Shiba Eternity team that the closed beta is slated for release “this week.” The early version is poised to offer an exclusive gaming experience to those who are part of the Shiba Inu token ecosystem. Access to the beta requires players to stake LEASH tokens which can be done through Shibaswap. This staking requirement not only gatekeeps the entry into the game but also serves to tightly knit the community members with what Lucie refers to as the “ShibArmy elite.”
Future access to Shiba Eternity, post-initial release, will expand to include holders of at least one Shiboshi, Sheboshi, or Shiba Eternity Lore NFT. Thereby, it broadens the player base and increases engagement within the Shiba Inu community. The decision to link game access with NFT ownership integrates a key use case for the tokens, enhancing their value and utility.
Community response to these announcements has been vibrant. Shib Mehta (@shib_mehta) disclosed that the game is already accessible. He revealed, “I was playing it like 5 min ago,” followed by Lucie’s playful response with a winking Shiba Inu dog image, confirming the statement.
Lucie also detailed the broader implications of improved gameplay for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, explaining, “The more people play Shiba Eternity, the more transactions will happen on Shibarium, the more BONE will be used, the more SHIB will be burned, and the greater the demand for Shiboshis will rise. THIS IS CALLED AN ECOSYSTEM.” She also emphasized the strategic importance of each token in the Shib ecosystem, noting that every token plays a pivotal role in its growth and sustainability.
The introduction of the Web3 version of Shiba Eternity is particularly noteworthy as it enables players to own in-game assets, making the gaming experience more tangible and valuable. With all transactions being conducted using Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), this setup is designed to support the strategic burning of SHIB tokens. The upcoming features, including ranked tournaments, strategic gameplay enhancements, and NFT minting opportunities, are set to enrich the gaming experience and integrate it more deeply with the cryptocurrency aspects of the Shibarium network.
LEASH Is Key
The role of LEASH as both an access and exclusivity token is critical. With a supply capped at 107,565, LEASH tokens hold significant weight in the ecosystem’s governance and strategic direction. Lucie leaked that LEASH could also hold key importance for future airdrops, access to the SHIB Metaverse and other ecosystem developments.
“[…] But there will be other Dapps. There will be a metaverse, presales, and even Airdrops. And YES, LEASH is the access token—the exclusivity token. No, it won’t be scheduled, but when opportunities arise, it will be LEASH in the Shib Ecosystem with a free pass.”
