Lynne Leyson, 53, was arrested at Pibwr Farm in Capel Dewi, Carmarthenshire, on Monday.

She had travelled across the UK during her 16 months on the run, before returning to the Dyfed-Powys Police area on Sunday evening, according to the force.

Police efforts to locate Leyson over the last 16 months included a wanted appeal and a Crimestoppers reward.

Leyson was convicted of conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property in May 2023.

After she failed to appear for sentencing at Swansea Crown Court, she was sentenced in her absence on 15 September last year to nine years in prison.

Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police conducted a warrant at Pibwr Farm in October 2021 and found 592g of cocaine, which had a street value of between £47,760 and £60,200.

They also found £17,190 in cash, 1.4kg of cannabis with a street value of approximately £15,615 and a semi-automatic pistol.

Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Leyson appeared in court on Tuesday, where she was committed to prison to begin her sentence.

Detective Chief Inspector Rhys Jones said the force was determined to “find those who think they can evade justice”.

“I would like to thank members of the public for their assistance and information provided over the last 16 months – which has been greatly appreciated,” DCI Jones added.
