Six men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm near the Iranian embassy in London, police have said.
The arrests took place at a protest this morning against the Iranian leadership, according to reports.
“Six men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm – they remain in police custody,” police said.
“Two men were treated for injuries at the scene and have been taken to hospital for further treatment by the London Ambulance Service.
“Police have cordoned off the area while initial investigations take place.”
The Metropolitan Police, who were called to the incident at 09.53am, did not specifically link the arrests to the Iranian embassy.
But in a statement, the Met said the altercation took place on Prince’s Gate, which is where the embassy is located.

No further details have been released about the injured men or those in custody.
