Halsey started doing her own makeup “mostly out of necessity” because her first label had mostly male artists and no budget for her styling. She said, “I realized I didn’t have access to the same resources as some of my other peers, especially my female or, like, female-presenting peers. And so, I was like, ‘Okay, well, I’m not going to fall behind. I just need to figure out how to do it myself.'”
